Take Space Gallery
The Take Space gallery put on by the local organization El Salón took place on May 14th, 2021. The show was at the JMAC in downtown Worcester and featured BIPOC artists from all over the east coast. The work shown ranged from an award-winning film to textile art.
The film called “The Bookshelf” created by Anhkim Chi Dang was a show stopper. The film will be available for viewing at the Huntington Beach Cultural Cinema Showcase from May 21st to the 23rd along with some other films! Click here to register for free tickets. You can also view the film here.
Another big part of the show was a beautiful installation piece by Jennifer Recalde paired with a spoken word performance by Bruja The Villian. This piece was another huge component to the magic of this night and was an extremely emotional experience.
Music was also an important component of the night, our DJ DENZ was able to keep everyone upbeat and moving.
All in all the gallery was a way for everyone to come together and feel safe and express themselves. Many people expressed how important it was for them to come and see the gallery because it was one of their first events outside of quarantine. I encourage everyone to check the gallery out, it will be up till May 25th, 2021!
